Quick Concrete Question

I am setting deck support posts.

I have a 18" wide X 32" deep hole that has a 12" thick concrete footer in it. Today I set the posts on top of that in another 9-10" of concrete with anchors on the posts. So now I have about 1.5-2 feet of hole left.

How long do I have to wait before I can fill them with dirt? It's 80 pound sacks of "sakrete" from home depot. I didn't see this specification on the bag instructions.

Thanks.

Re: Quick Concrete Question

Just be sure there is some moisture in the dirt as well though. You don't want the dirt sucking the moisture from the concrete, it will not cure as strong with water being wicked away.

Re: Quick Concrete Question

OK thanks everyone. Yes they are 4X4. Posts are set now and holes are filled. Deck is 1/2 framed out. It's hot out there so I'll be working on it more tonight as the sun sets.

Later,
