I'm restoring a little 14 ft fiberglass jon boat, and I have a question on paints.
I ordered some Sea Gloss Poly for the topside, and I'm wondering if this is all I will need to leave a slick, shiny surface, or do I need to apply some kind of gellcoat as a final layer?
Second, a question about the interior paint. The guy at West Marine told me to just use the Sea Gloss on the interior as well. It looks like whoever owned the boat before me simply brushed on regular white paint. You can clearly see the fiberglass fibers and I don't want that to be the case. Will applying several layers of the Sea Gloss take care of this. I'd like to have a slick shine on the interior as well. Should I do some light sanding to minimize thread visibility, or use another kind of paint?
Just looking for some tips. Thanks to anyone who can provide some insight.
