Picked up this evinrude 110 for free from a customer at work... I'm a boat mechanic and I had installed a 150 johnson in place of his 110hp on his barge. He offered the 110 to me and I took it.
From what I have read online this engine should be a 1988 or 1989.... correct me if I'm wrong. But what throws me for a loop is that it does not have the "red plug..." it has the 1995+? Harness on the engine. I've never heard of someone updating or changing the harness on these, and the model number is gone so I can't determine what year it is.
Could someone chime in and let me know if I'm correct on my theory that it's an older engine with a new harness... or is it a newer engine with an old cowl. I'm a mercury guy, and don't know too much about these older johnson /evinrudes.
And if anyone is wondering what the boat is, it's a fiberclassics remake gt150 that I picked up for 175$ on the trailer. It's "brand new" (never seen water, never had an engine mounted to it, and never even had holes drilled for a control box) I bought it specifically after I got this engine for free to match my 1976 glastron gt150.
