My Force 50, 1987, Just a had a new head gasket, amoung other things, replaced.
The guy that did it said that there was a bit of a score on the bottom cylinder. He said that it was not bad and did not think it would effect anything. He did smooth out any rough edges on it before he put it back together.
We ran it for a few minutes in the lake and checked the temps with a temp gun.... 144 degrees on both cylinders, and it quickly cooled down to 120 when idling for a few minutes.
At any rate..... Do you think the minor score will be OK?

Re: Quick Question

Yes.Just be careful when you mix your gas and any mixture screw adjustments keep toward the rich side.

Re: Quick Question

Great, thanks!
Anyone have any idea what the correct plug is for this motor?
The manual said one thing, which they dont make anymore. Tried several auto stores to cross referance it and each gave me a different number.... Is there a standard replacement or brand that is easy to find?
The model of the motor is 507X7C.
Thanks again.... I have learned a lot here and this forum is wonderful!

Re: Quick Question

An 1987 c with the Prestolite ignition model motor calls for a Champion L82c spark plug, gapped at .030

Or you can use an NGK BUHX, which is probably better.
It is a surface gap plug and seem to do better in these motors.
