Quick tilt/trim question

Putting a used omc tilt trim unit on a '78 70hp rude. I have read about putting them on and that should not be too big a problem but the question I have is the unit came with a separate wiring harness that has a two pin connector on one end and the relay with a spring loaded arm on the other. Is there a junction box that I need to get that ties these wires together? It is the newer 2 wire system. Can you guys shed some light on this. I read about twenty posts on a search but I guess I'm to thickheaded for it to sink in. It didn't come with thrust plates so I will try to find them too. It is the 173827 part number system. thanks

Re: Quick tilt/trim question

I believe that the relay with the spring loaded arm is the trim position sending unit which attaches to the port side stern bracket:

I have a 3 wire motor which uses 1 solenoid. I believe the 2 wire motors require 2 relays. Sorry, but can't help you much on the 2 wire. You may have already seen it, but the link below shows everything required, including the junction box that you mentioned.

Edit: Looked through my files and found a wiring diagram for a 2 wire motor system
