Should I just load it up with stacks of hundred dollar bills till the weight over whelms the boat and it sinks? Or is it quicker to just not maintain it and let it sink the old fashioned way?

You almost had it right...load it up with c-notes to the point where it's weighted down, then throw a burning cigarette into the cash. That way you'll destroy the cash and the boat...what could be more fun than that??

Out of curiosity why do you want to sink it? Any boat is a good boat!!

I'll tell ya why I want to sink it. 'Cuase then I could convince my wife that we should have bought a new boat! That way I would know all the maintenance done to it and I would know that it was taken care of right.

I agree, it's tough when you buy a used boat cause you really don't know the history. On the flip side if you ever break down on the water with her(hint hint) she really won't like that and could see the benefits of a new boat for her self. Just make sure you have tow boat US or sea tow sow it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to get towed in. ;)

I agree, the best solution is to take it out somewhere far from shore, give her lots of beer so she has to go, then stall the engine and wait.

She is sure to change her tune:)

Worked pretty well 4 me.

Ya gotta plan a week long vacation at a isolated lake (read: a long way from home) where the only activity for miles around is boating. Pay the upfront lodging fee (non refundable of corse) When ya get there and the "boat don't work" ya ease on over to the local marina that just happens to have the boat your intrested in and......
It might help if ya have a bunch of board kids with ya, (they can be borrowed)

L-T

Quickest way to sink a boat?

Let my kids play in it; they will have it destroyed in no time. Don't worry it will sink. If that don't work, let my wife drive it. The woman has destroyed every vehicle she has owned. Doe's anyone else have to change their brakes on a new vehicle after 15000mi?

I like your idea, Limited. I've got my eye on a little stingray. My wife is infatuated with the POS that we have because it has a cuddy. She has this idea that we're going to "camp" on it. I'd be just as happy with a day use open bow. I'll keep ya posted.

That's funny, I have a cuddy and I tell my wife we're going to camp on it and she says "have fun, I'll be at the hotel". I like the open bow as well and thought I was going to really hate having a cuddy. I actually love it. The kids can sit down there and play, the can get out of the sun and I don't have to worry about them flying out if I hit a big wake. I'm down at Lake of the Ozarks which I think was voted one of the most dangerous lakes in America. The lake is rather narrow as it runs through the Ozark Mountains. Well there is a lot of boat traffic with a lot of 40+ boats throwing huge wakes. You always have to keep your eyes pealed for huge wakes. There are some places on the lake that I can't go near unless I'm feeling a little crazy. I can't even plane off and I've had waves breaking across the bow. I have fairly good size boat (about 24ft by today's standards) and that's not enough boat for this place.
