I need to replace my shift commandeer and I'm having trouble finding a suitable replacement. Mine is a panel mount that has a trim switch and seperate trailer tilt button. I can't find a Mercruiser controller that has both the trim and trailer switches. I did find a Teleflex 1752P that appears to be a workable replacement that has both of these functions. Does anyone know if there is a Mercruiser controller that would work? I know I'd have to replace my Gen 1 cables if went Mercruiser.

Thanks

Ahh... Sounds like I need to know what to search for. Still pretty new to boats. I found lots of mercruiser controllers but none that appear to have the trailer trim switch built in.

Ayuh,.... Some of the aftermarket controls, you can add buttons to 'em,...

I like it too and would love to find a new one just like it. It bind in the middle of the throttle and it's not the cable. Suspect the shaft is worn. The release lever is also broken as is part of the handle cover. other than that it's perfect!

Except for a few major assemblies parts are available and cheap for that unit.

I'm pretty new to the boating world but I could not find a source for parts I did try.

I hate to sound so stupid, but what was your search parameter to find those links? I tried to navigate back to your two links by starting at the https://www.mercruiserparts.com webpage and still could not get there without a lot of guessing and clicking. Is there a particular model you searched for?

I just replaced the same controller on my boat. Found one on ebay new for under $300, plus the cost of new cables which it needed anyway. Day and night difference in precision and feel. My old unit was pretty rough I guess.

The unit I selected was the Quicksilver 8M0011214 which has your needed trim and trailer functions combined into a single rocker. I had to modify the control cut out on the boats panel due to slightly larger mount dimensions, but was very easy overall.

If you want any specific info, feel free to pm me.

Quick addition: I went back and read some previous posts. If you decide to purchase a replacement unit, most are available without trim, with just trim, and with trim plus trailer. Make sure the unit you select does everything you need.
