quicksilver side-mount throttle control problem

I have an '86, 115hp outboard with a Quicksilver throttle control. My problem is that the "throttle-only" button will not push in. It's jammed in the out position (disengaged). I read somewhere that there is a repair kit for the problem which is quite common but I cannot find such a repair kit. I removed the unit and opened it up but can't figure how to get into the area to reveal the problem.
I've tried searching this forum but can't find a solution. Any help will be much appreciated.

Check with your local Merc dealer, they are the only ones that have the repair kits (not an aftermarket item)
You will also need a manual to figure out those controls. They are not user friendly inside. Your dealer can get you the kit and the manual for your particular control.

Thanks. I live in the boonies without a nearby merc dealer. Can you suggest an online dealer?
