I have an '86 Cruisers Cuddy cabin with a 350 Mercruiser and Alpha One drive with dual thru hull exhaust. What is the best way to make it quieter? Mufflers, conversion of some sort??? Thanks.

Ayuh,... The Best answer is to put it back into a Y-pipe,+ go thru-prop....
Mufflers usually help very little,...
A trick to quieting it at the dock or trolling speeds is to 90? them to exit a couple inches below water level...
That's what Mine do,....
1st chance I get, I'm puttin' the Y-pipe back in,...
After a 1000hrs of Thunder,.... Thru-hulls Suck....

Y pipe is definitely the quietest option. Quite possibly the cheapest too, if you can find someone removing their hub exhaust for through-hulls.

I kind of like both, but for different reasons. I really appreciate the Captain's Call setups that allow you to shut things up when you're tired of hearing the motor. Sometimes noise is fun, but it definitely is fatiguing.
