Have a twin sterndrive setup with a twin binnacle control (has trim on top of knob) port side throttle only button isnt working. Seems to have plenty of lubrication and don't want to break anything. Anyone have any insight on this?? Cause the port engine won't start without a high idle....

Thank you so much!

Re: Quiksilver shift help!!!

The part that ya may wanna look at on that control box is the neutral detent assembly thats located at the base of the handle were ya push in the button. That black button will pop out ,a lil tricky but w/ a screw driver you can work it loose an pry it out. Once ya get the detent button off look in there an see if ya dont see a nut , deep wall 11/16 socket if i rember , remove that nut. Now push the handel all the way foward ,WOT, an you'll see a set screw ,loosen bout half way out. Pull ya handel back to the neutral pos an wiggle it off the shaft of the control box assembly. The black plastic shaft that ya see in the center where the button came off is your neutral detent. This is the peice that is most likely where ya find a problem that you discribed in ya post. Its been so long since i've changed one, i cant remember how exactly that part comes out, I wanna say it pulls straight out but im not sure. Ya might have to take the box apart an those can be tricky if ya never done one. Your control handles will have three trim wires running through them so just pull it out enough to lay it forward on the console. There's a lotta knowledge an info on this site ,sure somebody can help ya the rest of the way. Good luck
