I Know this is not motor related. I purchased my boat with the radio leads connected to the battery terminals. Neg/Pos. However, every once in a while the main breaker would trip.(Flag type)
Only when i started it with the radio on. I have a secondary sub panel in the cabin,(Small box about 3"x6".) Should I hook the radio up this box? Is it a grounding problem? I have no other electronic problems. i just disconnected my radio.
Any suggestions? 1986 Grady Whits Sailfish
Michael

Re: Radio-Main Breaker Trip

Hi,
With out putting a meter on it I would hook it up to the inside box. Also check the circut it was hooked into. It sounds like the starter breaker
was haveing to many amps drawing through it. you may experiance static on your radio when you hook it in the box if it is not on its own circut.
Hope this helps.
corm
