If your current rpm's at WOT are in the range, stick with the same pitch you have. Normally a 20" will not give the same rpm's as a 23". You should gain about 600 rpm's by reducing to a 20" prop. About 200 rpm change for every 1" of pitch.

That wouldn't surprise me. The Rakers bite pretty hard. And it's not easy to change the X dimension on a stern drive. On an outboard I'd say go with a 22 if the 23 aluminum is in the right rpm range. Since it's very unlikely you'll be moving the outdrive up the 20 might be the right one. Testing will tell.
