Good call Pete.....Here's what I found Port Side 462624 1979-85 1.94 Intake & 1.5 Exhaust.....Starboard 3998993 1968-76 1.72 Intake & 1.5 Exhaust
This info I got from Small Block Chevy Cylinder Head Identification
This not good and explains at least some of my issues yes? Now a question for you SB guru's what kinda of issues would this cause?
I wish I had known/thought to look at this last year.
Well I guess we'll find out just how well Raul stands behind his products now. I will give him a call tomorrow and see what he has to say.
I recently received a small block Chevy motor from Raul, I'm in California. We found numerous bent push rods and the "pre set" value lash was way out of wrack. Even with new push rods, and properly adjusted lash, it still has a small back-fire pop on deceleration every now and then. It simply can not be adjusted out. If Raul is mixing and matching heads, I wonder how many blocks and heads are not actual marine blocks? He doesn't require a core, so I'm betting most his blocks are automotive reconditioned with brass freeze plugs, etc, and so forth..
