If you lubed the impeller upon installation, it should b e ok. But being an engine mounted housing, it's easy to check.

I would look at it, it's a cheap part but can cost you a bunch if it fails.

Mine isn't easy to check, have to hang upside down to get at it.

Same here........not easy to get at.
I just replaced it in the fall......only has ~30hrs on it.

Hoping I can get away with it for the rest of the season.

Just watch the temp, if it stays normal for several trips and doesn't give you concern, it may just be ok.

At startup last year I forgot to hook up the inlet to the engine driven pump on mine. Since it was cheap I bought another impeller and replaced it. The one I pulled out looked good and I keep it as a spare in the boat since the Bravo impellers can be changed in the water. I want to get a globe impeller and hardin marine housing. That would last for a very long time.

Global sounds the way to go for an alpha, have found mix reviews with the bravo drives. Some have lower head pressure due to silicone does not have the same tension as rubber. Having slower priming and reduced water intake. May not be a major issue except for newer engines with water pressure sensors. Just info
