Rattle can complete, I know its not correct, this is not a for show type motor I will run/use this engine, I put the money into the inside, New coils, points/condensers, plugs, wires, carb kit, impeller, It runs really good.. I think/hope I may have just scored a 14' aluminum skiff to put it on. summer cannot get here soon enuff! cheers.:)

Awesome work. I love it when good people like yourself, revive these old classics. I know what you mean about summer. I have a few classics waiting for my attention, including my recently acquired 1959 Lone Star Newport :D

Is that a brass prop? Id save that and run a more common one.

Great job.

congrats. it looks great. I had a '61 10 hp Johnson on a 14' f'glass skiff and a 14' tinny, and it would just about get them on plane. very peppy little motors or their size. keep us posted on the boat too.

Thanks folks' It is a brass prop, I kid you not when I brought it home the prop was held on with some black string that was held to the shaft threads with electrical tape, and then a nail had been driven through the wraps of string & shaft hole, no prop nut, As soon as I get it on the skiff I post a photo.

Nice job!

The brass/bronze props look great for show, but are really hard on the lower unit gears since they are so much heavier than aluminum.

The very top paint is called metallic cobalt blue, the middle of the hood is light global blue and the lower/mid unit is royal blue. all are rustoleum brand bought at wallyworld. Mas I will have to find a aluminum prop, This is what was on it when I got it, What you said does make sense, thanks.
