I took a break from my boat repair project to finish another small project that I had started a few weeks ago . . . re-finishing the outdrive.

I re-finished the outdrive when I first got the boat, so it has been about 7 years and there was a fair amount of anti-fouling paint build up, etc. So, I ground all the paint off, fixed up some pits, etc., and then re-painted the thing.

Here are a few photos . . .

The skeg is beat up from several "incidents", but I have a Stainless Steel Skeg Guard that goes over it.

Of course, I will put anti-fouling on it before I launch for the season (whenever that is going to be  ). So, the gloss finish will be only temporary . . .

What kind of paint did you use? I need to do the same to mine.

The primer is Interlux "Primocon" . . . for the black, I just used what I had left over from the engine re-build that I did last fall . . . It is POR-15.

Rustolem works well too.
