I have the same problem but my kill switch is installed , it has the thunderbolt and is a 4.3 it cranks with starter and runs soon as you let off key it dies . I have worked in the automotive industry for over 20 years and I have has over 10 boats .

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,... Meter yer key switch to be sure it's providin' power to the ignition circuit,....

When Startin',... The ignition is powered off the starter's solenoid's outer tiny terminal,....

When Runnin', it's powered from the key switch,...
