New here, hope this hits the right topic area.
I've an 82 Cajun which has blown up the E150 motor, rebuild is stupid money and the price of the replacement unit I found was an amazing deal. I purchased an 85 J175 motor and can see one problem I didn't anticipate. The steering on the 82 E150 is dual while the steering on the J175 is designed for a single. Mostly it appears to be a straight across swap with a little mod to the tilt because the boat has dual tilt controls,Not a big issue. My pondering is do I eliminate one cable or do I try and swap mounts ( tremendous undertaking I'm sure. ) from the E150 to the J175.

I was looking at the swap I didn't appear to be bolt on, in fact it appears to be cast. I'll look again. I don't think I should go single cable as the boat is fast enough with the 150 I've a feeling I'm going to be even quicker not a lot but I'm reasonable certain it's going to be.
That part number sells on Marineengine for $100 and I think if nothing else I'll by that.
Thanks

Turns out you where right, I did the swap today and it's wierd how they devised it. I just transferred the piece over to the new motor. Thanks for the help
