Hi Guys,

Looking for some expert advise on re-propping my boat, hopefully I can provide you with enough information.
I have a bayliner 175 bowrider (approx 2005) and a mercruiser 3.0l(after 1998) rated W.O.T 4400-4800rpm w/ alpha 1 gen 2 outdrive.
Currently it is fitted with a quicksilver 1918p21 aluminium 3 blade prop.

On a calm day with a clean hull, 6-8 people, a cooler full of ice and a full tank of gas it reaches approx 35mph and W.O.T 4550-4700rpm
With 2-3 people but everything else the same it hits about 40mph and W.O.T 4800-4900mph

When pulling a wakeboarder it wants to drop off the plane around 15-18mph, and I need to run about 20ish mph. I've read that a 4 blade helps with hole shot and low end performance. I was hoping to get some advise on what prop would be suitable for getting the guy out the water quicker and hold the plane for longer at lower speeds and while cornering(if possible) but the cornering isn't too much of an issue. (price and availability is an issue :) )

Any help greatly appreciated and if you need any more information i'll do what I can.

Many Thanks Guys

Ayuh,... Normal boatin', ya could use a slightly steeper pitch...

For Boardin',...
You're probably gonna have to be a 2 prop boater....
When you wanta pull the board, swap to a smaller pitched 4 blade,....
Then back to the taller prop for plain ole boatin' again...

Cheers, the prospect is being a 2 prop boating isn't a problem, in fact I think I would be comforted to have a spare in the boat. Any suggestions on pitch and diameter for the 4 blade prop for boarding?
