Re: TO TASHASDDADDY-1975 starter harness

that motor is very simple,

Starter Solenoid wiring.

Terminal # 1. positive cable from battery. And small lead to power starter switch and choke ( this should have a 20 amp inline fuse) ( these can just be push button switches) from switches, the lead goes directly to the choke solenoid. The start goes to terminal # 2 when the switch is activated it will activate the solenoid to send power to the starter.

Terminal # 3, grounds back to the battery directly.

Terminal # 4 is the positive battery cable directly to the starter motor.

You will have to have a ground cable attached to a good bolt on the engine block, back to the battery.

Push choke button choke should operate.
Push starter button, starter should turn motor.

Adjust your throttle cable so that the the control is pull all the way back the engine will die.

Re: TO TASHASDDADDY-1975 starter harness

i would disconnect what goes to the solenoid, other than the battery cables. then us 14-16 guage wire, to run the new wiring. get different colored wire usually sold in 25 foot rolls.you can tie one end to something, put the other in a drill, and spin a harness, the tie periodically with tape of zip ties. i have just always used push buttons, as that is what they started with, in the old days. one positive line to the buttons, and split it to start and choke button. then the line back to the starter solenoid, and electric choke. if you use an ignition switch it has to be the correct one for the motor, or you will short out the coils , and toast them.

if you can find red, yellow, gray. makes good combo. red pos to buttons, yellow to starter solenoid, gray to choke solenoid.
