re-waxing boat

Well, I used a paste wax on my boat upper hull that did not come out as good as I wanted. It was not specific for marine use. Idiot me! It came out too streaky and would not rub in well. If I go to a different brand or kind, the right kind :redface:, do I have to remove the old. If so, what should I use. Fortunately, I only did one side as a test.

if you dont like it....remove it....

laquer thinner works great for removing wax

Wash it a few times with dish soap.

Thanks for the info! I went ahead and used McGuires cleaning wax on top of the old. It did a great job! Shines real good without any residue. I had used Buff Magic before any of this and that worked real good on getting rid of slight oxidation. Now everything is all good!

If you want to remove oxidation, the best i have found is collinite 920. It is not a wax but boy will it remove everything else
