Well, I used a paste wax on my boat upper hull that did not come out as good as I wanted. It was not specific for marine use. Idiot me! It came out too streaky and would not rub in well. If I go to a different brand or kind, the right kind , do I have to remove the old. If so, what should I use. Fortunately, I only did one side as a test.

Wash it a few times with dish soap.

Re: re-waxing boat

Thanks for the info! I went ahead and used McGuires cleaning wax on top of the old. It did a great job! Shines real good without any residue. I had used Buff Magic before any of this and that worked real good on getting rid of slight oxidation. Now everything is all good!:)
