If it was me I would wrap it in a newspaper then put it in a garbage bag and sneek it in the garbage can.<br /><br />Really to read it, look at a big flash for the bottom any marks above the bottom are brush, fish, air bubble or anything. As you change the depth setting the scale will change and the flasher will slow down if deeper or make a second revolution. You have to be looking right at the unit to see any fish or bottom. There is no history of what you went over.<br /><br />In my opinion the cheapest LCD no mater what brand is better. I would not drill a hole to mount the transducer but then that is just me.
