Real High Idle

Ideling at about 2000 RPM then it will cut down like it wants to cut off and then right back up to high idle. Just bought the boat so dont know alot about about it. It is a Yamaha PRO V 150 1988. Cranks right up.It also is popping and running a little rough.I sprayed carb cleaner in the carbs and when sprayed in the top carb it tryed to cut off, then sprayed in the middle carb it idled up real high and same with the bottom carb it idled up like i was spraying starting fluid in it or something. sounds like someone has tryed to adjust the carbs that didnt know what they was doing. WHAT YOU THINK I NEED TO DO.

If you do not know anything about this motor and what was done to it, then start from scratch and check compression and spark on all cylinders, pull carbs, clean and inspect all parts. make sure the jets are in the proper carbs and the carbs are installed in the proper places. Reinstall and adjust all linkages and setting as the manual states
