I have a '98/'99 Volvo Penta 5.7 EFI GSi, SX-M I/O
I haven't run it in 7 months and am preparing it to go to Lake Powell.
I ran it on the water bellows for 45 minutes yesterday after checking the impeller first and everything ran fine and temp stayed perfect.
I just want to make sure of something - besides some exhaust (and water) coming out thru-the-prop-hub, is there supposed to be water and exhaust coming out from under the lower unit its lowest point nearest the transom?
It looks kinda like it could be the exhaust manifold I found in some pictures. It's a greenish, unpainted piece with one or two slots in it. And since I doubt all the exhaust comes out through the hub, I figured this is the correct operation, but....
I just want to confirm it's not some sort of leak.

water should come out from the base of the transom housing, and from four small holes (two on each side of the drive) where the upper/lower unit meet, which can basically only be seen if you lay on the ground.

And also from a few small slits in the exhaust bellows. These openings are designed to let the exhaust system self-drain when the boat is out of the water.
