Hello,
Like many here, I am a huge fan of the inlines. Right now, I have a '75 1500 on an 18 ft Cobia Sportster that pushes the boat about 37 MPH at 5800 RPM with a 17 P prop.
It has been my recent good fortune to purchase a 1987 115 HP with the ADI ignition and integrated T&T - the pinnacle on the inline concept.
I'm guessing that the actual HP difference between these two engines is about 20 HP as the 1500 is at the crank and the 115 is at the prop?
I'm thinking about switching to the '87 115 as the ignition parts are cheaper in addition to the modern T&T. Is the performance close enough that I would not notice a huge difference? I could live with 2-4 MPH less on top end if that's the only trade off.
Thanks for the thoughts!
