I have a 92 60hp johnson and my question is this. The other day i was messing with my air/fuel mixture screw (not thinking what i was doing) and lost count on how many turns it was till seat. Well my friends dad has the same exact motor same size, same brand, the only thing is that it is a 93 not a 92......So my question is can it use his adjustment to correct mine. In other words can i back his air mixture screw and count how many turns till it seats, then go to my motor and adjust my screw to what his settings are (factory settings too, just like mine was). I would think i could bc we have THE EXACT SAME MOTOR! however I need other's advice before i do this!!!:confused:

Looking at the parts list, they show two different needles, with different thread pitches. Obviously, the one with finer threads won't move as far per revolution as the one with coarse threads.

its an adjustment, nothing set in stone. I cant remember the exact turn but you wont go wrong with 21/2 from lightly seated.
from there the engine must be warmed up and the gearcase fully submerged.
then your final setting may vary from 1 turn from lightly seated to 51/2 or so.
the exact linkage adjustment and final A/F adjustments are in the service manual.
