2 inch OD steel,center clearance drilled 3 inches for a 3/8ths rod, top part has a 1/8 th inch locating collar to fit into the top of the bell housing and is relieved to clear the top of the bushing, the lower part is machined to JUST slip in the bottom of the housing,this gives enough support for the new bushing.
It is also relieved to clear the new bushing so that just the outer shell sits on the tool, insert the spacer by hand, use the tool to set in the housing, install new bushing, tighten threaded rod making sure bushing it straight ,if not gently tap the bottom on the tool to center it, (that's the reason for the clearance hole, to give it a slight wobble),tighten down threaded rod till bushing bottoms out.
