I have an 20ft Aluminum Boat with the engine and kicker on an Offshore bracket. (Too crowded to use as a swim platform)

I would like to purchase a collapsible/portable swim ladder that I hang off the side of the boat. As "old age" is creeping up on me I would prefer one with 4 or more steps, so that it is easier to climb onto. Also one that has rubber/pvc on the "hooks" so that it does not scratch the paint while in use

I have researched online and have found lots, either for pontoon boats or "permanent" ones, but as of yet not one really portable. I am also seeing prices ranging from $48 - $230 I am hesitant to spend a lot of money right now as both me and my wife just became victims of this crazy economy and lost our jobs.

My question - do you get for what you pay for, or is there "my ladder" out there for $50-$60, Has anyone got any good suggestions or recomendations
Thank you

I got a collapsible one from Bass Pro here locally, that seems exactly what you are looking for, over the gunwale, pvc coated hooks, and they have them with multiple steps. Works OK for my 6'5" 310 pound frame. May want to check the iBoats store and see if they have something similar. OK looks like they do, here is a link to it
