Reassembly of Tiller Handle on 9.5 Sportwin

Attention on deck!

As some of you know I have a 9.5 Evinrude. 1968. I have disassembled the tiller handle and on re assembly I am having difficulty getting the handle pinion gear in sync with the worm gear coming from the motor linkage. Any tricks?

the first tooth of they handle gear, goes in the first groove of the slide bar. Branden did his first one today. the knob on the end of the slide bar is the idle stop screw, you may have to unscrew it. it also has 2 bolts holding it. you can see it here

With a little more patience and getting to understand the way the throttle linkage works in conjunction with the tip you gave me I got it! Man was I feeling like the slow kid in the class LOL. Thanks again.
