I have rebuilt carbs on older johnson evinrude motors. my dad has a newer yamaha 70 and wants me to rebuild the carbs on it. my question is will it be more difficult on his motor than on the older ones i have. his motor is a 2001 ( i think ) yamaha 70 , oil injected 2 stroke

You probably won't need to rebuild the carbs. Most just need cleaned. If you're careful with the gaskets, all you'll need is a can of aerosol carb cleaner.

You just have to be careful to not the "turns" it takes to fully seat any adjustment screws. When taken apart and put back together, just set the screws back to the point they were at previously--if the engine had been running right.

I can remove, clean and install the carbs on my 115 hp Yammie in just over an hour. It's not a big job, even for an amateur like me. I do have a manual to back up my memory, however.
