rebuild kits

I found some complete rebuild kits on a website for my 88 spl,it is a 1987.they offer 2 kits,1 with caged rod berings and 1 with regular rod berings.Can i use either 1?what is the difference in the caged bering and non caged?

Caged is cage retained rollers, the other is loose rollers.
