not sure if this is the right section for this question but my fuel pump is going bad on my outboard. im leaving for trade school august 29 and i really wanna get on the boat a couple more times b4 i leave. ive found a "new" fuel pump on ebay for about 30 bucks. would i be better off just buying the new pump so i can use the boat or should i see about getting a rebuild kit for the pump?

A rebuild kit probably will cost more than 30$, if that's a original pump go for it. On a fuel pump what usually wears with time and use are both diaphragms...

Gee, repair kits for Merc fuel pumps are $5 or so. I would think your motor would have a cheaper fuel pump repair kit, unless you have a combo fuel and oil injection pump.
