Rebuilding 4.3

Quick question for ya'll, I have started the rebuild process of my 4.3 due to a bad winterizing job. Anyways, I did not remove both heads, but wondering if I should remove the other head and see if there is any water in the cylinders???? Any help thanks

unless i know with 100% certainty that what i pull a head for is only affecting that side(broke a spark plug say) i pull both. it is only a few more dollars for gaskets. when i pulled the head on the current engine because of broken spark plug found the other side was on the verge of losing a valve seat which would probably have ruined the engine. well worth the peace of mind.

Ya got the motor out.. Might as well go all the way if you do it half-A$$ you may have problems in the middle of the season and who wants the down time then....<br /><br />Tallman

the gasket kit provides gakets for both sides anyways did one my self last year...

"<br />Sounds More like you've started a Band-Aid Process.....<br />The Rebuild Process goes something like this;<br />Removal...<br />Tear-down...<br />Inspection...<br />Renewal...<br />Replacement...<br />Reassembley...<br />Reinstallation...<br />Initial tuning...<br />Start-up,+ Retuning...<br />Break-in...<br />Full Service,+ Final Tuning...<br />Go Boating... Hopefully for Along Time...<br />As Stated Above.... 1/2 a Rebuild Isn't a Rebuild At All.....<br /><br />With all that said, What are your Problems, so far indentifided ????? Have you even remove the other plugs to see if there's water in the other bank of cyl.s ???? <br /><br />If you were going to get new eye glasses, Would you have just 1 eye Tested ?????
