Re: Rebuilding carbs

If you've never done it before, I sugest you take it to a good shop. It's not the rebuilding (beleive it or not) thats a pain, but the calibration. Multiple carbs can sometimes be a problem. You might even need a set of vac*** gages (like they have for motorcycle tuning. As a MOF, most bike shops can tune your carbs after the job.
But the rebuilding is fairly straight forward. You will need a gallon can of GUNK (tm) carb cleaner, the shop manual, and the rebuild kits for the carbs.
The carb cleaner is mean stuff, and it requires you completely remove all rubber and plastic parts and gaskets before "cooking" them. But the stuff is very thurough, leaving nothing but metal behing

Re: Rebuilding carbs

I just looked at your message again...That enjine has a single carb, don't it?
If it does, you should have no need for vac*** gages, and can setup the carb with the book.

------------------
I'm no expert, but I DID sleep at a Holiday Inn last night!

Hi longbow,
GO for it, they are not that hard to do.
You would need a manual to get things set right.
