:welcome:

After you have a few posts, you can post some pictures. Look for the picture posting instructions in the 'stickies' at the top of the forum.

First pointer, is that seldom does anyone replace just the floor. Usually, the structure that is under the floor needs to be replaced too. Can you tell us more about the boat, and post some pictures when you can?

It’s a 1968 Glastron skiflite v-142 I’m replacing the floor because the back 3 feet were rotten as well as the last port to starboard stringer it was not coated in fiberglass I just got the floor out late last night so I will b doing a core test today on the stringers an transom to see if they are any good but the stringers held up to me standing on them

Unfortunately, 9/10 times if your deck is rotten so are your stringers, bulkheads, and transom. Holding up your weight isn't quite the same as taking on the weight of the hull, motor, gear, and 3-6 people on the water, anyway I'm thinking that core sample might unfortunately show you need a complete gut, and stringer/transom job as well. My boats transom (unbeknownst to me) was 100% rotten, and it still held up to rough use on the water at full weight capacity, I wouldn't have known how dangerous is was until I opened it up.

Fortunately you're on the most helpful and informative forum for boat restorations! Looking forward to pictures.

You don't use 1708 with epoxy and the Goop Coat-It product is a bit pricey to be doing an entire deck with it. Lots better options out there once you KNOW for sure the extent of your rebuild.

Well strange news stringers are perfectly fine transom however has a few rotten spots below the floor line but when I drilled into it I hit a hollow cavity behind the wood of the transom is that normal or did it delaminate from the shell?

Wood may just be gone in that spot. Mine had a 3 inch wide by foot long section no wood in there at all. No rotten just water.
