1996 200hp ocean pro ,,,couple of questions Dhadley why do you always point out that it is the number 2 piston that goes??what is the common cause that makes that piston heat up?? I have mine apart and i was going to have my buddy mechanic and I put new pistons and rings etc in,,,should I send the block out to get inspected cleaned and whatever they do ,,with the heads?? i noticed last night that there is some deep pitting on the block where the heads connect to the block midway down can this surface be planned smooth again on the block so that the head gasket fitts better, or should i save time and buy a block rebuilt already and add my stuff to it how much for a 1996 evinrude 200hp rebuilt powerhead through Iboats,,or do yoiu rebuild my block??

Re: rebuilding

#2 is the second highest one
heat rise
lack of lube/lean mixture or cooling
