Rebuilt 1990 90hp break in time?

I'm still waiting for it to be shipped. Spoke to the mechanic He said he had it running for about an hour. told me run the engine on the first tank of gas at a 50 to 1 ratio after that make it 100/1 ratio. Is this correct?

What make is the motor? When my Yamaha 90 was rebuilt I ran 25:1 for break in and 50:1 therafter.

Jim,<br /><br />There isn't a high hp outboard out there that runs 100:1.<br /><br />UNLESS, the engine also has oil injection. Then, the recommendation would make sense.

Sorry its a force. didn't ask about fuel injection bought it on ebay.<br />First engine I bought was damaged in shipping.<br />He offered this one for $2.100 I'm guessing its a good buy.<br />Hey thanks for the help. <br />Jim
