I have water coming out of the two exhaust relief holes at the top of the exhaust housing. Is this because the tank it's running in is too small and is creating too much pressure behind the prop?
It's a 78 johnson 115. Seems to be running ok otherwise. Here's a link to the sideways vid.

Any comments on the engine or the way it's running are welcome. The Idle is still too high, I'll know how high soon when the Tach arrives.
It isn't running as rich anymore since I adjusted the floats. I had to go quite a ways past parallel. I adjusted the floats so that there was a sliver of light between the bottom corner of the float and the gasket surface when viewed from the side. This seems like too much. Most of the smoke and unburned fuel are gone though, the amount of smoke in that vid is way down from yesterday.

Yes, that's normal.

It is normal when the thermostats opens. Check engine temp to see that it is around 140F on each head.

That is normal; I believe that OMC also considered that a telltale?

OMC switched to the dual thermostats in 1978. When they made that switch, it is normal for water come out of the two exhaust relief ports at the top of the midsection. You should see significantly more water out of those ports when the engine is on plane. You will set the idle rpm's by adjusting the idle timing. That large screw on the spark advance lever. You must set the idle when the boat is floating normally, in the water, when in forward gear. 650-700 rpm. You can't set it when it's on the trailer.
