Rectifier Amps

2 Quick questions. <br />1. My charging system on my '68 merc 1000 is capible of how many amps?<br />2. The 'hot' charging wire is the 'red' wire leading from the switchbox to the engine plug harness?<br /><br />Is that right?<br /><br />cheers

About 6 to 8 amps at WOT and yes the red wire is the power wire, but the red wire from the rectifier is the charging wire
