Rectifier question for 1984 Evinrude E140TLCRD

The battery in my boat is not charging.

Boat: 1984 Blue Fin Royale
Motor: 1984 Evinrude E140TLCRD with power trim & tilt

I would like to test and possibly replace the rectifier. This seems to be the correct part, but I'm having trouble figuring out where that part actually is on the motor.

I can see the rectifier on this diagram, but I just don't really understand where it is in relation to the overall motor...

Attached is a photo of the Power Trim/tilt Electrical box on the back of the motor. If someone can explain how to find the rectifier referencing this box as a landmark, that would be super helpful!

Thanks!

Post some more pictures.----Any unit on there that has 2 yellow wires going to it ??----I can see the water cooled rectifier / regulator on top of the block.----Between the relay box and flywheel.----You have to remove flywheel to get it off.

rectifier is there to supply the battery with charging current

find the big fat red cable on the battery side of the solenoid. see diagram

on the same mounting bolt you will usually find other red wires one of which comes/goes to/from the rectifier regulator. or a rectifier regulator

For models with trim and tilt. Test yours first with a multimeter.....easy to do.

Attached are four more photos of the motor. I do see some orange wires, but I still can't seem to locate the rectifier itself.

Any help would be appreciated.

if it works you should see voltage go up couple volts on the battery posts after starting the engine.

without checking the AC voltage (2 yellows) to confirm the AC source is ok changing the rectifier/regulator won't help.

i do the diode test on an unknown motor anyway. super east yellows to ground both ways, then red to yellows both ways. high reading one way, none the other.
