Rectifier/Regulator - Diode testing on 10 amp system

This a FYI. After buying new and used regulators that would not pass CDI troubleshooting bench testing diode test. Finally after calling their techs on numerous occasions, they finally researched and found that this test is irrelevant at least on this application. Something to do with a printed circuit board. Why it took like 15 discussions and a return of rec/reg for them to comeback with oh yeah, nevermind. I pretty much wasted my summer boating season looking for a good rectifier. This is so others don't go thru what I did. I guess DVA is the only test. Also make sure that your stator is good (see CDI troubleshooting guide for tests both bench and DVA).

Don at BRP support is the man. Wish I had tried him first.
