rectifier test

when engine running at idle im getting 12.8 when I put my multimeter on DC.

then when I put the ground to the other 2 green and yellow wires im getting 6.v on DC.

is that correct?

Green/Yellow wires are AC voltage, not DC. You should see anywhere from 13 - 16 volts AC on the Green/Yellow wires depending on your RPM's.

Motor should be running at least 2000 RPM's to check DC output of the rectifier. Reading 12.8 volts is just battery voltage. Charging system doesn't do much at idle speed which is normal. If you're only seeing 12.8 volts on the rectifier output (Red wire) at say 2000 RPM's then you've got a problem.
