How many rectifiers are on a 1994 mer 200hp xri. I have ordered one cause my tac is not working. Where is is actually located.

I just looked at the break down for your engine and I can't find a rectifier. All that is listed is a Voltage regulator, and there is only one voltage regulator. Is that what you ordered? :noidea:

Yes that is what they call a voltage regulator. It probably is both a rectifier and voltage regulator. Because you have to rectify the AC from the stator before you can regulate it. However, there is only one listed for your engine...

Where is it actually located? I think I found it on back of motor but there is two that look the same

there are TWO... tha extra black is justa ground... yours has a "case ground"... you could plug tha gray (tach wire) into tha "other gray" on tha "other" reg/rectifier........

Located on back of motor correct? First thing I replaced was tac. Ordered one reg/ rect. Hope this solves prob of tac not working. Guess if not will order a second one

under tha coils.... did ya swap tha gray tack wire to tha gray on other reg/rectifier?

I plugged the other gray where up. Tac worked. Then it went out.

Okay that seem interesting. Have you verified the tach before this? And can you try the tach on anything else to see if it works?
