I have a very late model dual axle trailer.Nicest trailer I have ever owned by far.I was on grease patrol yesterday with my grease gun in hand and lubing everything with a zerk including my neighbors zerks.I ALWAYS use marine corrosion control green grease. The bearings on my new trailer has pink grease in all bearings which would have to have been from manufacturer or trailer dealer. I am not sure whether I should look to buy same grease before I grease bearings as the 2 different greases may not mix well.Anyone know of this pink grease???? Thanks Charlie

Pink grease may be red grease with water in it. You might look around to see if you can find some red grease, but practically, you will probably need to go green.

They will probably mix and work quite well.

Yep, red grease turns pink with moisture.

I use TSC HD lithium complex (red) grease on everything (tractors, trailers and vehicles) except the boat proper where I use Yamalube marine (blue) grease.

Most marine greases have compatibility issues with anything but.... Need to get a lithium base (red) grease or clean out the hubs and start over with a “marine” grease

My go-to grease is Penzoil full syn. Red. I use it in my trailer bearings, boat gimbal bearing and unis. The only special grease I use is Merc's coupler grease and their 24C w/teflon where specified.

The whole family is now in AWD, 4X4 vehicles. No more grease. Just waiting for expensive sealed hub repairs.

Never seen pink grease before. Possible water in the grease making it pink. Not knowing what I might be dealing with, I’d pull the bearings, clean and inspect and then repack them with the appropriate grease.

Unless you know what type of grease was already in there, putting a different grease in there can be an issue if the grease base is different. To be safe, always better to just remove all the old grease and put in the grease you are planning on using.

BTW, better off repacking by hand than using the LAZ-Lube zerk fitting.

Thanks dingbat, thaqts exactly what i needed.great trailer huh?? The only thing that bugs me is the placement of the side arms. They are placed directly next to the step plate and cant really use the step.
Can't complain. Mine has served me well.

Been looking at an aluminum bunk (drive on) trailer for the past couple of years. Just can't convince myself to buy a new trailer given our goal of moving to the water full time in several years.

At that point, the boat will sit outback on a lift 9-10 months out of the year. Trailer will be relegated to winter storage and to and from the local ramp twice a year

Yes Lucas red n tacky gets lighter/whitish when water gets in it . push out with pretty much any grease and you’ll be ok.

I'm wondering if that really works as intended when switching grease. Doesn't the new "tunnel" through the old--leaving you with a mixture around the spindle? I just can't imagine ALL the old grease being pushed out by a thin stream of new grease flowing from a single 1/8" hole near the rear seal.

Unless you're POSITIVE new & old are compatible I would take it apart & wipe out the old.
