Red Stator adapter

Hey all great forum. My problem is I have a 1989 50 hp 3 cyl with the red stator and adapter. I have ohmn and dva my stator trigger coils everthing I have read to do on this site and everything checks out good. I found a link that told me how to check the adapter that came with the stator. It is not checking out to spec. So my guess It is bad. So the question is where to I get one with out buying everything again? I have searched and searched.. Thanks for any help!!

Red Stator adapter that comes with kit 398-832075A5 is part 8M0021548. The new kit now has the part number labeled on the adapter. Bought the whole kit to find that out.

I had to remove the power head to replace a leaking exhaust gasket. When I reconnected the wires, I missed the ground jumper wire from the switch mounting plate (rubber isolated - not a ground) to the engine block. I believe that my adapter failed when I cranked the engine without an adapter ground. When checking your ignition, do not let this happen to you.
