I have a 1985 Johnson 115hp on a 1990 Bayliner Capri. I took off from from the dock I could only get 2100 rpm. I took the cowl off played w/ plug wires and switched a red switch on front of carbs on the starboard side.. it was pointing towards the back of boat and I switched it to port side. I bought the motor last year and still is under warranty, but everytime something goes wrong dealer says it fine. So I would like to know what this switch is. The VRO is disconnected if that matters for this question.

The red lever is to be turned to be paralell to the solenoid. When it is turned 90 degrees, this for manually priming.

When standing at the back of the motor it is point to the left, all the way it can go. I took it to the dealer today and told them the problem I had, And he said that lever wouldn't make it run bad. He said that something else is wrong. If it was turned toward front of motor would it make it run bad?

You need a diferent dealer, the lever needs to be in line with solenoid, if it runs better with it turned, you may have fuel delivery issues within the carbs. I suggest you get an OMC service manual.

I will turn it to the solenoid, and see if it makes a difference. That is what you mean by in line right? I have had it for just over a year. It has been under warranty so, I haven't got a manual yet. But I will for future reference.
