some of you all know that i am redecking an ol riveria cruiser pontoon this winter,
I have had to drill out, or cut every screw, bolt, nut, etc on this ol beast,
so as of last night I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, Got the handrails off, and the first 3 sections of the deck. I will post some pics tomarrow or later in the week.

Re: redecking the ol pontoon

thank you, i havent even started the new deck this was just to get ready for the deck, I still have a lot of work ahead of me, got to build a wire harness, figure out where i am gonna put the second battery, the bimini top, seats, all new hardware, have some of the hand rails rewelded (there alum.) etc, but at least the pain in the butt work is done.
like i said i will post pics of the old girl

Re: redecking the ol pontoon

I did mine over two seasons - the back half first and the front half this fall. A sawz-all worked wonders on the old deck screws. I actually put my 2nd battery in a wooden box I made out of 3 inch wide old seasoned oak - I put it right in front of the console. Made it easy to access the the console and with a cushion(spelling?) on it, the grandkids use it for a seat. Have fun - when I hit it this fall, I put new carpeting throughout, took out the side gates and made an open front deck and installed a couple of seats on the deck. A lot of work, but the end result was worth it.

Re: redecking the ol pontoon

i will keep bringing the pics, good luck on your pontoon purchase.
we have a large family as well, and they are nice,
what are pontoon prices there like, here it seems $1000,00 will get you a trailer and thats it, for 1500, one that needs a deck and a motor, and anything in anykind of shape will bring 5-7 thou. no matter how old. it seems they hold there value better then anything and there is no buying in the winter to save money
