How many will go ahead and say it? I am. I wasn't raised that way, wife doesn't appreciate it much, but I am what I am. I am more of a politicly correct redneck I guess. More like Cooter from Dukes of Hazzard than the fella that lives in the single wide with the hogs and chickens taking care of the grass control. Go ahead and tell it, that is if'in ya ain't scarred!

Well, I have a broken car in the driveway...listen to country music...like to use a shotgun...like to go really fast in a boat that was never meant to...and use "ain't and yeehaw" all the time...so yeah, I guess you could call me that. :D

I'm kindly figured ol Ray and that darn red truck would be the first to stand up.

I knew I was in a redneck motel whenever I told the manager "I gotta leak in tha sink" and he replied "Go ahead, I do it all the time"

I always considered myself a little bit of a Hick from the sticks or a farmboy rather than a Redneck. I think it may be more of a reginal thing than anything eles. I also have some Jack Pine Savages in the family. I think they are all fairly closley related though!!!

I must humbly admit that I is.

I Painted my outhouse a canary yeller and turned a usable boat into a flower garden..

I use my fishn line as dental floss and pick my teeth with worn out hooks..

I use my fishn net as cover from the skeeters and eat fins I catch even though they glow in the dark..

And last but not least my favorite Ridgerunner Ballad is...

http://www.karaszewski.us/outhouse.html

Re: Redneck by choice

I don't like the term Redneck it has come to mean someone that is uneducated and has bad manners as well as the lack of political correctness that follows them around. Personally I prefer Country to Redneck. I drive a truck that is over 10 years old; I have a van that is not working in the back yard (because I have not sold or had it hauled off yet); my boat is a project; I just got about 1/2 way through winterizing (temporary enclosure) the carport using nothing more than materials I have gathered over the past year (BTW the carport has a homemade barrell stove which heats the homemade hottub and is soon to get a gas heater I have on hand as well; I can fish and run a trot line but I still don't call myself a Redneck.

Re: Redneck by choice

If you describe a red neck as someone who doesn't measure people by what they have, but who they are.

If you need help a redneck will most likely lend two good hands and a strong back, a metrosexual might lend you his cell phone.

If fixin things as opposed to having things fixed for you makes you a redneck.......

If your measure of tolerance includes peoples right not to own guns, even though you can't figure why........

Knowing how to fix your truck and other small appliances makes you a red neck............

Going to church on Sunday, and taking care of your parents, family, friends whatever it takes makes you a redneck.............

If buying your jeans at the same place you get your trailer tires makes you a redneck........

If second hand means first hand to you...........

If actually knowing the difference between right and wrong makes you a redneck........

I guess I am a redneck...

Eventhough I will have to were a suit, when i get a job, I will always be a redneck at heart. Nothing agaist the suit wearers though. I love the possibility of me owning or running a business. but when it comes to planning my vacation, it will always be during deer season and flathead spawning season.

Hey flathead! That's an invisible fence collar around that dogs neck!

I have two cars broke down in front of the house. I drive my van with two feet to keep it running when I stop or slow down. I have a tree down in my yard I ain't finished cutting up yet. I like guns and own some. I shot them and clean them as well. I only own two dogs though. However, I am heavily into technology and practice martial arts. So I might be a refined redneck? Or is that a hillbilly?

AND Me, I'm just an old country a$$ boy thats like the old dog riding in the back of the truck.....Just glad to be here and able to call you all friends and know that my friends and family can call on me anytime day or night.

Yes, I'm a Redneck.
