Redrill drain hole?

When I did my transom, I didn't fully measure where my drain hole was going to be.
There's a bit of water trapped in the bottom of the boat because the drain hole is about 3/8 inch above the bottom.

Do they make large drain holes? or can I fill and re-drill the hole?

My aluminum boats bilge drain plug is about 3/4" from the bottom so there is always some water in it (from rain and splashing). This is unmodified from the factory and is normal. Am I missing your point or does this help?

You can fill in the old hole and re-drill it lower if you want, but I would say most boats have a small amount of water trapped below the drain hole.

How large is your bilge area? You could build up the bottom of the bilge with thickened resin or by laying some resin coated plywood down, OR you could leave it as it is as others have suggested.

Maybe I'll leave it. I just didn't know if water sitting there all the time would degrade the fiberglass.

Here's a pic of it. The "bilge area" is about 8 x 8

Won't hurt a thing, my boats drain is about a 1/2" above the hull. Just leave it as is...

Looks like a dandy spot to dump your extra kicking resin into ;) .

Im thinking you have more glassing to do anyways ..just top it off with a layer of mat on the last dump :D .

The inside of the boat has since been completed so it's got all the fiberglass work done. I finished that last year. The water pooling in the back was just bugging me.
