I was experiencing some fuel flow problems with my 1963 evinrude 75 hp V4. I pulled the carb off, then decided to check out my reed box to find out what condition it was in. Reed box was immaculate but carb had some varnish. Question is, is there anything that I should do while reed box is out? Or should I just install new gasket and replace reed box?

Re: reed box service

If it wuz me, I get myself a set of Boyesen Reeds and install them. Engine will idle better, acclerate better and you may even pick up a couple of hundred revs on the top end. Use your search engine and go to "Boyesen Reeds" and see what they have to say.

c/6

Hooty
